The Seekers Mākete is a vibrant artisanal craft market held every Saturday at The Arts Centre Te Matatiki Toi Ora in Christchurch. Operating from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM, the market brings together local artisans, gourmet street food vendors, and live entertainers, creating a lively atmosphere for visitors of all ages.

ALTIORA LIVE - Presenting a host of genres from jazz and funk to blues and skiffle. The Arts Centre is supporting Altiora Live to grow Ōtautahi’s live music scene. The vibe is casual yet classy.

Hagley Park

Did you know that Hagley Park is right next to The Arts Centre?

Hagley Park is a central hub for a variety of events throughout the year. Notably, the park hosts the annual Electric Avenue Festival, featuring performances by local and international artists.

Additionally, events like Culture Galore and the South Island Wine and Food Festival are held in nearby locations such as Ray Blank Park, just a short walk from The Arts Centre.

Cellar Door

Within The Arts Centre Te Matatiki Toi Ora, you can enjoy a delightful wine experience at Cellar Door, an award-winning wine bar open daily from 12 PM until late. They offer curated wine tasting flights, a selection of New Zealand and international wines, craft beers, cocktails, and a fresh seasonal food menu.

ALE HOUSE ROCK - A choir in a pub. Christchurch’s best-kept noisy secret is moving to Altiora at The Arts Centre for monthly sessions. Inspired by the Aussie 'Pub Choir' phenomenon, it’s all about people having a drink and a fun singsong with surprising results!

Lumière Cinema

Situated within the Arts Centre, Lumière offers state-of-the-art movie experiences in a historic setting. Along with the Bijou Bar, the Lumière will be a mecca for cinephiles with an array of craft beers and a bespoke wine collection. Rounding off are Cheeseboards, Rollickin’ Gelato’s, She Chocolate bridged with the Lyttelton Coffee Company’s aromatics... Evening screenings provide a sophisticated night out.

Paint & Sip Studio

The studio provides a unique evening activity where you can create your own masterpiece while enjoying a drink. Located at Level 1, 1 Hereford Street within The Arts Centre, this studio offers guided painting sessions suitable for all skill levels, making it an ideal spot for a fun night out.
